COMPETITION OVERVIEW
Since 1978, we have been challenging the best and brightest business students from across Canada and around the world. With eight competition streams – Accounting, Business Policy, Debate, Ethics, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, and Digital Strategy – and two competitive rounds of competition, we are proud to bring the world to Canada.
I.C.B.C. IS THE WORLD’S MOST ACADEMICALLY RIGOROUS CASE COMPETITION, AND CANADA’S OLDEST, LARGEST AND MOST PRESTIGIOUS UNDERGRADUATE CASE COMPETITION.
So how does I.C.B.C. work? Unique among most other global competitions, I.C.B.C. is split in two rounds: Preliminary Round and Final Weekend. The Preliminary Round includes a video submission of exhibits. This format is designed to challenge case analysis and prepare competitors for Final Weekend. Over the course of 2-3 weeks in October, competitors will work in teams of 2 (3 for Business Policy) to prepare their response, with the Top 6 teams in each stream advancing to Final Weekend. Held in January at Smith School of Business at Queen’s University (in Kingston, Ontario, Canada), Final Weekend is an exhilarating 3-day event which balances fierce competition (in a 5.5-hour case presented to a panel of expert judges) with many opportunities to network and socialize with fellow competitors, volunteers, and corporate sponsors.
