They Create Our Vision

Julie Cho - Co-Chairperson   As I.C.B.C. continues its long history of being one of the world’s top case competitions, Julie is absolutely thrilled to return to the I.C.B.C. Executive Team as the 2020 Co-Chairperson. Working with Julien and their amazing I.C.B.C. Executive Family, she looks forward to contributing to the I.C.B.C. legacy by creating a fantastic and memorable competition for all. Outside of I.C.B.C., in her rare free time, you can always find Julie with a coffee in her hand reading through HONY, talking about how much she loves Vancouver (West Coast, Best Coast?) or walking on the Kingston pier with her friends!

Julien Curlier - Co-Chairperson   Julien is excited to be returning to the I.C.B.C. Executive for the 42nd - yes, 42nd - year of this amazing competition. As Co-Chairperson, he is thrilled to be working alongside Julie and with their incredibly talented Executive Team to continue to set the global standard for case competition excellence. Given I.C.B.C. is proudly a student-run competition, Julien would like to take the opportunity to extend a big Canadian thank you to all of I.C.B.C.’s judges, case writers, sponsors and of course, competing schools - without you, there would be no legacy. In his free time, you will probably find Julien travelling on a plane, trying to be athletic, or being compared to a famous person that he supposedly looks like.

Lucy Ji - Operations Officer   Lucy is eager to be returning to I.C.B.C. alongside a dedicated and knowledgeable team, in exceeding all expectations for I.C.B.C.’s 42nd year. She is determined to achieve a smooth execution of Final Weekend, ensuring the best possible experience for competitors, judges, faculty advisors, sponsors, and volunteers. Some of Lucy’s hobbies include learning foreign languages, trying new foods, and petting good doggos and puppers.

Claire Zhou - QCC & Debate Director   Claire is ecstatic to be returning to the I.C.B.C. team for another outstanding year of competition with high calibre competitors and executive members. She is looking forward to organizing the highly anticipated Queen’s Case Competition. Along with her talented team, she is excited to maximize what I.C.B.C. has to offer. In her spare time, you can find Claire boxing, reading, or talking about her veganism. She also enjoys a good conversation - so when you see her, feel free to say hi!

Rachel Freeland - Cases Coordinator

Rachel is so excited to be returning to the team for another amazing year and taking part in her 4th final weekend during I.C.B.C.’s 42nd year. As the cases coordinator, she is looking forward to bringing exciting and innovative cases to this years competition and seeing the creative solutions competitors come up with. James Maycher - Judges & Alumni Coordinator   As I.C.B.C. enters its 42nd year of competition, James is unbelievably excited to return to the executive family for yet another year of unparalleled competition. In his role as Judges and Alumni Coordinator, his goal is to connect competitors with I.C.B.C.’s supportive alumni network and organize the devoted team of judges who are fundamental to the success of the competition. In his free time, you can find James doing anything related to the water – whether that be lifeguarding, wakeboarding, cliff jumping or getting a workout in at the pool.

James Maycher - Judges & Alumni Coordinator

As I.C.B.C. enters its 42nd year of competition, James is unbelievably excited to return to the executive family for yet another year of unparalleled competition. In his role as Judges and Alumni Coordinator, his goal is to connect competitors with I.C.B.C.’s supportive alumni network and organize the devoted team of judges who are fundamental to the success of the competition. During his spare time, Michael enjoys swimming or playing tennis and is a passionate Manchester City fan. You will always find Bosco talking about the latest K-pop concert he's been to or how he can't wait to go back home in Markham to eat good food.

Doris is so excited to share this amazing experience with judges, alumni, and competitors from around the world. She looks forward to putting together another successful year as she will be organizing all the banquets, socials, and networking events with her partner in crime, Bosco! The strong passion and dedication the executive team has contributed thus far, she cannot wait to see how I.C.B.C. 2020 will unfold!

Doris Zhuo - Special Events Coordinator

This year will be I.C.B.C.’s 42nd year in running and continuing its legacy as Canada’s oldest case competition! Doris is so excited to share this amazing experience with judges, alumni, and competitors from around the world. She looks forward to putting together another successful year as she will be organizing all the banquets, socials, and networking events with her partner in crime, Bosco! The strong passion and dedication the executive team has contributed thus far, she cannot wait to see how I.C.B.C. 2020 will unfold!

Kevin Lei - Digital & IT Officer   Kevin is delighted to be part of the team for I.C.B.C.’s 42nd year! As the Digital and IT Officer, he is thrilled to be working with the rest of the team in ensuring this year’s events are more innovative and engaging than ever before for all stakeholders, including delivering value through a revamped I.C.B.C. mobile app and website. Outside of I.C.B.C., you can find Kevin at the bubble tea cafe, the movie theatre, or on the grind in a breakout room.

As Marketing and Publications Coordinator she is looking forward to revamping the I.C.B.C. brand and sharing everything I.C.B.C. on social media. Sarah is an avocado enthusiast and is always down for brunch and a walk on the beach or through the forest back in BC.


They Learn With Us

Each year in September, I.C.B.C. hires 3 First-Year Representatives to join the fantastic Executive Team. The I.C.B.C. First-Year Representative position is unique in nature, with each Representative choosing their preferred portfolio to shadow, whilst simultaneously completing the tested I.C.B.C. First-Year Representative program. A testament to the successful nature of the I.C.B.C. First-Year Representative initiative, many alumni have gone to pursue careers in industries - such as Accounting, Investment Banking and Consulting - at top firms around the world.

2020 First-Year Representative Applications will be live on ComSoc Shop (my.comsoc.ca) from September 8th to 15th, 2019. We encourage all interested incoming first-years to review our application via the link below and contact members of the Executive Team to learn more about I.C.B.C.
