Nicole Li

Co-Chairperson

Going into her fourth year at Queen’s Commerce, Nicole is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as Co-Chair for I.C.B.C. 2017. Having been involved with I.C.B.C. since first year and served as the Cases Coordinator last year, Nicole looks forward to bringing the competition to new heights in her final year. She spent her winter semester of 2016 on exchange at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and is looking forward to meeting competitors from all around the world next year. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys running, travelling, and listening to anything by Ed Sheeran or Ingrid Michaelson.

Jess Zhu

Co-Chairperson

Jess is honoured and excited to be leading the I.C.B.C. team as Co-Chair, alongside Nicole. Having served as Frosh Rep and University Liaison, Jess is beyond thrilled to contribute to a third year of I.C.B.C. legacy, and to once again work with such a passionate, dedicated, and talented I.C.B.C. family. Jess will be entering her third year of Commerce in the fall, and is looking forward to studying abroad in Paris, France, during the winter of 2017. Outside the hours spent on I.C.B.C. (and school work, I guess!), you can find Jess in the studio with Queen’s competitive Hip-Hop team, the Flow Performance Crew.

 

Jessica Chen

University Liaison

Running all the way from the six, Jessica is beyond happy for round two on ICBC this year as the University Liaison. Having been a Special Events Volunteer and Special Events Coordinator, she is excited to expand her horizons in her new position! Jessica is going into her third year in the Queen’s Commerce program and will be attending ESSEC in France for the winter semester! When Jessica is not busy sending out emails or travelling the world, you can find her fashion designing, urban exploring, or playing with her two pups. Her go-to shower song is A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton, but she drives her mom van to anything by Kygo, Zhu, Yuna, and Ta-Ku (or the Top 40s on the radio).

Colette Koopman

Operations Officer

Colette is thrilled to have the opportunity to join ICBC once again this year in the capacity of Operations Officer. Entering her third year she will be traveling abroad to France for Fall 2016 to study at ESSEC Business School. Reigning from Waterford Ontario this small town girl isn’t scared to make a big impact. Prior to this role, Colette was Judges Coordinator for ICBC 2016. Her favourite part of final weekend is meeting all of the competitors, faculty, sponsors and judges. Outside of school she can be seen catching up on the latest episodes of Suits or House of Cards. She knows the lyrics to an unprecedented number of songs but can never get enough of Shakira’s “Empire”.

Allison Hudson

Cases Coordinator

Going into her fourth and final year in the Queen’s Commerce program, Allison is ecstatic to once again be joining the I.C.B.C. executive team in the role of Cases Coordinator. Having started off as a competitor in QCC and a team host in her second year and worked her way up to a judge’s coordinator for I.C.B.C. 2016, Allison is glad to be apart of the I.C.B.C. family for one more year. Recently coming back from her international exchange in Singapore, Allison is most looking forward to meeting all the Final Weekend Competitors who travel from various parts of Canada and the World. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the gym and catching up with friends. Whenever Allison is not jamming out to Backstreet Boys or Shania Twain, she loves dancing around to the classic tune “Take On Me” by A-Ha.

Walid Herzallah

Judges and Alumni Coordinator

Walid is excited to be one of I.C.B.C.’s Judges and Alumni Coordinators for the 2016 – 2017 year! Last year, Walid was a First-Year Representative for the competition and enjoyed seeing the team’s hard work result in a successful Finals Weekend. He believes I.C.B.C. is truly unique due to the calibre of its competitors and its unparalleled history of excellence. In his spare time, you can find him enjoying hip-hop music, playing a game of soccer, or having a good time with friends. His favourite song is Novacane by Frank Ocean, or anything produced by Metro Boomin’.

 

Jessica Piacentino

Judges and Alumni Coordinator

From Mississauga, Ontario, Jessica is entering her second year at the Smith School of Business. She is very excited for the opportunity to join the I.C.B.C. executive as one of the judges and alumni coordinators! Jessica volunteered at I.C.B.C. Finals Weekend last year and loved her experience as a team host. She is eager to meet all the competitors and judges this upcoming year. In her spare time, Jessica likes to travel, curl (the sport, not her hair), and play basketball. Her favourite song is anything sung by Taylor Swift.

Aislin Roth

QCC Director, Debate Coordinator

Aislin is excited to re-join the I.C.B.C. Executive as the Queen’s Case Competition & Debate Director. She will be entering her second year in the Queen’s Commerce program this fall and is looking forward to meeting such a talented and ambitious group of competitors. Last year, Aislin was a First-Year Representative and was amazed by the calibre of the cases delivered at Final Weekend. Aside from I.C.B.C., she loves to travel and last spring spent three months backpacking through Central America. Her favourite song is Waiting on the World to Change by John Mayer.

Jako Ho

Marketing Director

Entering his third year in the Queen’s Commerce program, “Markham-boy” Jako is beyond excited to have the opportunity to serve as the Marketing Director on the I.C.B.C executive team. Starting his journey with I.C.B.C. as a sponsorship coordinator last year, he is looking forward to seeing what the new year will bring. In January of next year, Jako will be taking his talents to Seoul, Korea, where he will be studying at Yonsei University. Having international experience brings great value to Jako, which is why he is excited to rejoin the I.C.B.C team, as it is a competition that is able to attract such a wide pool of international talent every year. He is motivated to further develop the competition, making I.C.B.C 2017 an unforgettable experience. During his free time, he enjoys playing ultimate frisbee and watching soccer. His favourite jam right now is Running Out, by Matoma

 

Stephen Smart

Sponsorship Director

Entering his final year in the commerce program, Stephen is thrilled to be a part of this year’s I.C.B.C executive team! After serving as one of last year’s sponsorship coordinators, Stephen will be returning as this year’s Sponsorship Director and is looking forward to helping plan what will surely be an amazing competition this year! In his spare time, Stephen enjoys working out, playing hockey, watching netflix and playing music! His favourite song is Breakdown by Jack Johnson!

Jei So

Sponsorship Coordinator

Cruising from Richmond, BC and heading into her fourth year, Jei can’t think of a better way to spend her final year at Queen’s than joining the I.C.B.C. executive team as one of the Sponsorship Coordinators. Having had the utmost pleasure volunteering as a team host for both the 2015 and 2016 Final Weekends, Jei is beyond excited to bring her joyful spirits and unwavering dedication to make I.C.B.C. 2017 truly unique and memorable. In her spare time, you can find Jei quoting lines from the Oprah Winfrey Show, producing videos for Studio Q, and reminiscing about going on exchange. Although the Spice Girls and JBiebs are up there, her all time favourite song would have to be Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder.

 

Cameron McWatt

Sponsorship Coordinator

Cameron comes to Queen’s all the way from the Cayman Islands, and is entering his second year in the commerce program. After volunteering as as a team host at I.C.B.C. in his first year, Cameron is excited to join the I.C.B.C. sponsorship team for the upcoming year. Having attended an international boarding school for four years, Cameron’s favorite thing about I.C.B.C. is meeting the diverse range of competitors from across Canada and internationally. Cameron also loves seeing the passion that these competitors have for the competition, which will undoubtedly make organizing I.C.B.C. extremely meaningful. When he’s not in school, you can probably find Cameron swimming, biking or running with the Queen’s triathlon team or listening to anything by The Weeknd.

 

Winston Xing

Sponsorship Coordinator

From the heart of Toronto as a not-so-typical private school kid, Winston is entering his second year at Queen’s Commerce. After volunteering for I.C.B.C. as the glamorous role of an info desk attendant, he is thrilled to be joining the exec this year as a Sponsorship Coordinator. He loves the inter-collegiate aspect of the competition, and is extremely excited to once again appreciate the voluminous energy, perspectives and talent Final Weekend attracts. When he’s not being a self-proclaimed model student, Winston’s free time is spent satisfying his concerning gambling addiction, reading books about quality of life, and telling the funniest jokes amongst friends. His go-to karaoke songs are Skinny Love by Birdy and the timeless Beautiful Soul by Jesse McCartney.

Jennifer Liu

Special Events Coordinator

From Mississauga, Ontario, Jenn is entering her second year in the Commerce program at Queen’s University. Having volunteered as a Special Events Assistant during the 2016 Final Weekend, she is beyond excited to serve as a Special Events Coordinator for the 2016-2017 academic year. I.C.B.C. amazes her with its global focus, the dynamic of the competitions, and the high-calibre competitors. In her spare time, she enjoys playing basketball, or having a fun time with a group of friends. Her all-time favourite song is All My Life by K-Ci and JoJo.

Jessica Baliwalla

Special Events Coordinator

Hailing from Toronto, Jessica is entering her third year this coming fall. She is ecstatic to be a part of the I.C.B.C. executive, working as a Special Events Coordinator for this coming year. Last year, she was a competitor in QCC and acted as a team host for the University of Manitoba and Simon Fraser University at I.C.B.C. It amazed her how well run the competition was and how many new people she was able to meet so she is eager to help in the running of the event this year. When she has spare time, she enjoys baking (which she will eventually share with the other executive) and spending time outdoors. Her song playlist is quite eccentric but her favourite song is Send Me On My Way by the Rusted Root.

Ryan van Huuksloot

Finance Officer

Ryan is excited to be I.C.B.C.’s finance officer this year! Having done Systems and IT last year he ready to come back and make the experience even better while expanding his abilities. In Ryan’s spare time he enjoys playing with technology and learning new skills including the Freeline Skates he just bought. Ryan is known for not having any music on his phone but when he listens to music he enjoys “Immortals” from Big Hero 6’s soundtrack!

Claire Uhm

Publications Officer

After volunteering as a Team Host during Final Weekend 2016, Claire is humbled to join the I.C.B.C. executive team as the Publications Officer in her second year of study at the Smith School of Business. Having survived the International Baccalaureate program back in her hometown of Richmond Hill, she has always been encouraged to foster a global mindset and loves that Final Weekend attracts competitors from all over the world. Claire has been a debater for many years and is excited to see what kind of talent the much-anticipated Final Debate will bring this year. In her free time, she likes to keep herself busy with creative writing, dogspotting, and food documentaries. Her ultimate throwback song will always be Numb by Linkin Park.

Andi Geng

IT Director

Andi is excited to be rejoining I.C.B.C.as the IT Director for 2017. Last year, he acted as the Publications officer, and the System Assistant the year before. In Andi’s spare time he enjoys reading, tinkering with computers, and drawing. His current favorite song is Young Rich and Radical by Club Cheval – he’s been listening to it on repeat more or less for the past month.
